Tranzactor (TM) Widely Recognized for Delivering Cost Savings Among EDI Users

9/21/09 Perrysburg, OH; Lower cost, improved performance, user-friendly--common phrases at a company devoted to enhanced logistics, productivity and revenue enhancement. At a time when the transportation industry has been severely affected by the ravages of higher fuel prices, survival-mode competition and reduced tonnage, Tranztec Solutions, Inc. is thriving!
A core product offering is their popular “Tranzactor”™ software for businesses that must process Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions. Often required by major shippers, EDI capability has surprised many transportation companies with substantial time and expense ‘investments’, in order to comply with their customers’ EDI mandated participation. Major longstanding complaints among ‘forced EDI participants’ are the high costs associated with using the public Value Added Networks (VANs) to exchange EDI data. Fees and associated costs within a single Value Added Network can soar to thousands of dollars per month. There are many cases where multiple interconnects are required further multiplying monthly costs.
Tranztec’s flag ship solution, Tranzactor™, enables the automatic “translation” of EDIformatted documents directly into a company’s database without any additional transaction or communication costs. The software “hides” the complexities of deciphering and assembling transaction sets. The two-way (in-bound / out-bound) EDI “translator’ resides on Microsoft Windows-based workstations or servers and interfaces directly with transportation/logistics applications running on Windows or iSeries-based servers.
With the Tranzactor™ software in place, companies who use EDI to communicate with their trading partners can now use direct FTP or AS2 communications through existing Internet connections, eliminate the costly VAN’s, send and receive as much data as needed, retain cost savings for data-entry, billing and customer service.
Implementation of the Tranzactor™ software has proved to be efficient in transitioning from depending on a VAN to moving to a direct (VAN-free) system. Tranzactor™ supports both direct and VAN-based communication. It manages the entire life cycle of the document including mapping, process execution, monitoring and error-handling. Documents are extracted, “translated”, and distributed without intervention. In addition, acknowledgments to be sent or received are monitored, processed and transmitted. Automated “alerts’ and notifications keep users up-dated on ‘sent’ and ‘pending’ transmissions.
This state-of-the-art technology has enabled companies, especially in the transportation / logistics / supply chain industries to meet customer expectations and requirements while also significantly reducing costs. Tranztec’s customers remark that the system works well with today’s Transportation Management Systems--meeting expectations set by Tranztec’s management.
